Butterflies and more butterflies!
I love this time of the year when flowers are blooming and you can find butterflies everywhere. There is a sense of happiness in the air and all creatures are busy matting, pollinating, or simply gliding around from flower to flower.
The California dutchsman's pipe butterfly can be found anywhere its host plant grows freely (dutchsman pipe). They seem to be enchanted by the different types of sage in the region.

From time to time I get one of this beautiful gliders come through my back yard. Swallowtail butterflies require a lot more than just food to stick around. They can be found anywhere near their host plant, milkweed.
